Dear Friends and Family,
We are 10 days away from leaving for the Philippines! We will then be in California for 1 week visiting friends and family. Yesterday we moved most of our stuff out of our house into storage at some friends' house who also attend Daybreak Church. We had a lot of help to move everything and we are so thankful for those that gave their time to help us. We also had a going away party lastnight in which we were able to say goodbye to many of our friends. We felt so loved and supported by all of you and your encouraging words to us as we leave very soon. We value these friendships and will value your prayers. Our housing in the Philippines has been secured, and we were able to see some pictures of them! It made it even more real that we are actually leaving for the Philippines! We will live there for a couple of years while we are in language school for 1 1/2 years. It is only a short 12 minute walk from our apartment. We will have some missionaries from a different organization as neighbors who will be able to help us orient to life there. We are thankful for this provision from the Lord! We just want to give all of the credit to our Lord Jesus because we know that His love is what has driven us to persevere through all the ups and downs and the packing that we have been doing. We are thankful for Becki's parents who have given us so much time and effort in helping us to pack up our belongings! This week we will be shipping out our boxes, cleaning up the house, and saying goodbye to more family and friends. Matt's parents and younger brother, as well as other relatives, will be arriving this coming weekend to say goodbye. Well, that is about it for now. Please continue to pray for us, that we will be able to have sweet times with family before we leave, and that we will be able to have time to spend with Jesus and reflect on the transition He is taking us through.
